Current Volunteers Vacancies

Home based volunteers

There is an urgent need for a collator/data input person for the historical newsprint research database. A number of volunteers is searching local and national back copies of newspapers for stories about the Met Police. They complete a research pro forma and photocopy that article, recording all available details for the officers involved. This then needs to be transferred to the database.

This work can be undertaken entirely from home – no travelling involved.

Full support and training and postal costs will be given.

Local History Library Liaisons

We are looking for Local History Liaisons for London Borough Local History and Archives Centres. The duties will involve 4 visits a year to make you known to the staff and hand over leaflets, application forms and notices in person.

Assist at Family History Shows and Met. Police Station Open Days.
