Current Volunteers Vacancies

We are urgently seeking a new Peeler editor.

Home based volunteers

There is an urgent need for a collator/data input person for the historical newsprint research database. A number of volunteers is searching local and national back copies of newspapers for stories about the Met Police. They complete a research pro forma and photocopy that article, recording all available details for the officers involved. This then needs to be transferred to the database.

The Friends 'Time Line' is in need of a desperate revamp.

This work can be undertaken entirely from home – no travelling involved.

Full support, training, postal and traveling (if necessary) costs will be given.

If you are interested in volunteering please go to the 'contact us' page and send a message to our volunteers co-ordinator.

Local History Library Liaisons

We are looking for Local History Liaisons for London Borough Local History and Archives Centres. The duties will involve 4 visits a year to make you known to the staff and hand over leaflets, application forms and notices in person.
